Medical issues delay sentencing for Pflueger

The sentencing of retired car dealer James Pflueger has been delayed until April for medical reasons, the Garden Island reported today.

Pflueger was scheduled to be appear in Kauai's Circuit Court Jan. 23 after pleading no contest in July to first-degree reckless endangerment in the 2006 Ka Loko dam case.

Pflueger was charged with tampering with a spillway around a dam on his Kauai property.

The Kilauea dam breached in March 2006, releasing water that killed seven people.

In July, Pflueger's company, Pacific 808 Properties, formerly known as Pflueger Properties, entered no contest pleas to manslaughter.

The plea deal asks the court to assess a $50,000 fine for each of the seven victims. The fines would be paid to the state Department of Land and Natural Resources for the purpose of dam safety, the paper said.

Another 'delay'???? What's wrong with this coward. Only the MAN upstairs will put this Pflueger in his place and that will be where he will suffer for eternity. So sad for this cold-hearted man.

Lemme guess...Pflueger purchased the land with company money, the title of the land is under the company and any fines will be assessed to the company. Yet Jimmy got to use the property and he alone made the decision to alter the dam leading to the breach and he can't personally be liable because it is under the company. Jimmy makes decision that led to the deaths of many yet can skate legal prosecution. Unreal!
