A 32-year-old Schofield Barracks soldier has been charged with allegedly taking a purse from a woman in Pearl City on New Year's Eve.

Frederick Warren was charged with second-degree robbery and unauthorized entry into a vehicle Wednesday. His bail was set at $20,000.

Police said the incident occurred just before midnight when the male suspect allegedly confronted the 29-year-old woman as she sat in her car.

Police said the suspect used force to take the purse. The victim was injured while fighting back and the suspect fled with her purse.
