The world's most famous dinosaurs are coming back to Hawaii.

"Jurassic World," the fourth installment in the Steven Spielberg dinosaur series, will film on Oahu and Kauai starting in April, said Patrick Crowley, one of the producers of the film.

The production will be in Hawaii for about six weeks, Crowley said by phone from New Orleans, where the film will also be shot.

Hawaii was the only real location considered. Although the recent increase in the state's tax refund for film and TV productions was attractive to the filmmakers, it was another type of green that appealed to everyone, Crowley said.

"It has the best jungle in the world," he said. "A little bit of green goes a long way. There is fabulous jungle there. And it's relatively accessible. You need to go to the Amazon to get what you need."

It's too bad, if you feel that way, but here on Oahu, it's a great jungle, green, lush, landscape location for movies, there are other spots here in Kualoa Ranch that is just beautiful. Kauai is just as beautiful too, great film location areas that Hawaii has to offer and even more. Jurassic Park was filmed there on Kauai back in 1992, movie released in 1993. Steven Spielberg at that time needed to make an emergency decision to get his people off the island since they were caught in the middle of Hurricane Iniki, if you remember, I do. My grandson was born in August of that year, I working for Verizon at that time (Hawaiian Tel Com now), we volunteered to work there from September of that year, didn't get home till December, in time for Christmas, I have photos to prove it, how we were considered as restoration workers, giving that island practically a whole new outside plant, I was a lineman (lineworker), female working there from almost 12-14 hours a day to bring communication back to that island. I remember how the guys on our crew claim they found the movie locations, but I could never find it, the hurricane really did a job on that island. So hopefully, I'm sure, no more hurricanes at this filming, we'll all be lucky, for me I'm retired but also one of those now signing up as an extra for "Jurassic World". Good Luck to everyone, enjoy.
