84-year-old clerk catches alleged check forger

An alert 82-year-old clerk caught a 34-year-old man who tried to cash a forged check yesterday at Pearl Kai Shopping Center.
When the man presented the check at 1:46 p.m., the clerk called the account holder who denied writing the check or knowing the suspect.
The clerk called police and officers arrested the Kapolei man on suspicion of second-degree forgery and unauthorized possession of personal information.
