Big Island police arrested a 35-year-old Honokaa woman who allegedly threatened, assaulted with a knife and kidnapped a 21-year-old Honaunau woman Sunday night.

Police said the younger woman was visiting a male friend's house in Captain Cook at about 7:15 p.m. when his ex-girlfriend allegedly threatened her, then allegedly used a knife to cut off some of her hair and cut her neck and chest. Police said the cuts did not require treatment.

The suspect ordered the 21-year-old to get into a car with her and two other women. The 21-year-old was driven to a gas station in the Kaloko industrial area and another one in Waimea.

At the Waimea gas station, the woman got out of the car and called 911.

Police arrested the 35-year-old woman later that night on suspicion of kidnapping, terroristic threatening and assault.
