The Independence Day at Maunalua Bay Foundation is staging its third annual Fourth of July celebration Sunday at Maunalua Bay from 1 to 9 p.m.

The organization was formed by volunteers in late 2007 to bring the community together with a fireworks show. Seventy-five percent of net proceeds go toward scholarships for Hawaii students. Organizers will provide free shuttles from parking sites at Kaiser High, Koko Head Elementary and Hahaione Elementary.

The event is funded through corporate sponsors such as BluWater Grill,CQ Outback Steakhouse, Pacific International Realty and Quality Construction.
