Baby dies while breast-feeding mother falls asleep

A Waipahu mother fell asleep while breast-feeding her 3-month-old son yesterday and awoke to find him dead, police said.
The woman told police that both she and her son fell asleep sometime before 5:50 p.m. The boy was unresponsive when the mother awoke, police said.
Paramedics pronounced the child dead at the scene.
