A downed traffic light pole following a crash forced police to close the eastbound lanes of Kamehameha Highway Wednesday night in Aiea.
The crash happened about 7:40 p.m. near Lipoa Place. Police said a city bus hit a traffic light pole that was blocking the roadway. A fire hydrant was also knocked over, creating a gyser on the roadside.
Police diverted traffic onto Kaonohi Street after closing the eastbound lanes of Kamehameha Highway between Kaonohi and Lipoa Place.
One lane reopened at about 10 p.m.
