City to reopen golf courses and parts of Hanauma Bay Thursday

The Hanauma Bay Nature Preserve will partially open Thursday, and the city expects to reopen all of its golf courses as well.

The beach area of Hanauma Bay will remaian closed as a safety precaution while city crews repair damage from the reent heavy rains. The upper viewing area and parking lot will be open to the public. The entire preserve is expected to reopen Saturday.

City golf courses at Ala Wai, Ewa Villages and West Loch were closed today, but should open Thursday if weather permits

On Kauai, county officials said Lydgate Park and the Wailua Golf Course will reain closed Friday because of flooding issues. Lydgate Park was also affected by a sewage spill from the Wailua treatment plant. For updates, go to www.kauai.gov.
