Former University of Hawaii quarterback Colt Brennan was released by the Oakland Raiders, his father confirmed this morning.

Brennan will return to his home in Southern California for a few days, then go to Arizona to train. It is the second time Brennan has been cut this summer. He was released by the Washington Redskins a month ago, before receiving his tryout with the Raiders.

His playing time in the exhibition season with Oakland was limited. He completed one pass in one attempt for 14 yards. It will be difficult for Brennan to catch on at this late date and will likely be out of professional football for the first time since he was a late-round draft pick by the Washington Redskins in 2008.

The Associated Press reported Brennan was one of 21 cuts made by the Raiders as they try to get to their 53-man roster limit. Oakland still has one cut to make before the NFL release deadline.
