St. Louis Drive between Waialae Avenue and Dole Street is expected to be fully re-opened sometime this morning after Hawaiian Electric Co. crews fix a downed utility pole caused by a traffic accident.

The only way in and out of St. Louis Heights was closed between Dole Street and Waialae Avenue yesterday afternoon after a car hit a utility pole at about 5:15 p.m.

Traffic was being counter-flowed this morning and motorists were re-routed to Dole Street to get in and out of the St. Louis Heights community.

Traffic was also being disallowed eastbound on Dole Street from Kanewai Community Park.

Police expect the road to be shut down up to 12 hours to allow Hawaiian Electric crews to repair the problem.

The crash did not result in serious injuries.
