Firefighters extinguished a small wildfire that burned about 50 feet from two homes in Waialua yesterday afternoon.

The fire started about 1:05 p.m. off Kuewa Drive and burned up to the edge of the homes' backyards, said Honolulu fire Capt. Terry Seelig.

Two fire engines extinguished the blaze, which burned less than a quarter-acre, in about 90 minutes. No one was hurt and no property was damaged. A cause has not been determined.
