Honolulu police detectives have opened a homicide investigation after a man was killed in an apparent early-morning assault in Kalihi, police said.

Two men are in custody as police continue to investigate reports that a group of men were seen chasing a single male, police said.

Paramedics were called to Halona Street at 3 a.m. and treated a man, described to be in his 20s to 30s, for a trauma wound. The victim died at the scene at 3:40 a.m., Emergency Medical Services said.

Police closed off the area from the Houghtailing offramp on H-1 westbound to Halona Street, and Kohou Street to Houghtailing Street as they investigated.

The roads were closed around 3:52 a.m. and reopened four hours later.

allie, you poor sad sad little boy, girl, ? Why is it that you always take such great enjoyment in creating and perpetuating hatred? Is your life so hallow and wanting that you can only find enjoyment in taking cowardly back stabs at others? Evidently your life is one of failure and frustration and the ONLY way you are able to experience any satisfaction is to bring others down to your cowardly, spiritually and morally bankrupt level. Have you ever thought how you hurt and dishonor your ancestors and your people? Or is this how your people habitually behave? Are your lies, hatred and hypocrisy the way you have been taught and how you honor the spirits of your ancestors?

That area has a lot of rubbish by the side of the road, maybe if they started to clean up, there would be less tagging and violence. It seems like people around the area just don't care about each other. There is just no pride in community in that area of Honolulu. I am glad that although I live about a mile from that area, people in my street seem to care and actually talk to one another. Honolulu is becoming more of a big city and losing that ohana feeling! We need to return to our grass roots and start forgiving. Maybe New Hope might benefit some of these guys?
