Hawaii surfers eliminated from U.S. Open of Surfing

Hawaii surfers Carissa Moore, Coco Ho and Dusty Payne were eliminated in the semi-finals of the U.S. Open of Surfing at Huntington Beach, Calif. today. 

Moore, 18, the current women's world surfing title holder, lost to another prodigy, 16-year-old Lakey Peterson, who won the U.S. Open junior women's surfing championship on Saturday.
 
Ho lost to Australia's Sally Fitzgibbons. Fitzgibbons went on to win the women's division U.S. Open title.
 
Payne lost to Kelly Slater in the men's semi-final. Slater went on to win, beating Yadin Nicol of Australia in the final round.
