Kalihi man charged in stabbing over kitchen argument

Police charged a 27-year-old Kalihi man in connection with the stabbing of a 22-year-old woman in Kalihi following an argument over kitchen items.

Rowan Sam is being held on $50,000 bail after being charged with second-degree attempted murder, police said.

The incident happened at 3:25 a.m. Saturday. Police said the man followed a 22-year-old woman into her room after the kitchen quarrel and stabbed her.

Family members intervened and detained the man until police arrived.
