A 27-year-old Kalihi man whom police believe tried to rob a man at gunpoint and drove away through a crowded Chinatown pedestrian mall Saturday will make his initial appearance Thursday in Honolulu District Court after being released on $75,000 bail.

Ifo Nimoai Jr., 27, was charged with second-degree robbery, firearms violations and promoting a detrimental drug.

Police said Nimoai robbed a 27-year-old man at gunpoint and then drove away recklessly through the Sun Yat Sen Mall  beside Nuuanu Stream about 10:30 a.m. Saturday, nearly hitting pedestrians. Signs posted on the mall say no vehicle traffic is allowed, police said.

Nimoai was seen carrying a handgun, police said.

Officers found Nimoai in his vehicle on a public street near the mall and arrested him at 10:51 a.m.

Lo lo, with his brains up his you know where, endangering pedestrians. What is it with our young people? What's wrong with day labor job? "It's honest and good for the soul, if you did not do well in school. Parasite, and now the taxpayers must pay for his upkeep.

Didn't see his picture when I posted my earlier comments, and now it confirms my original opinion. He even looks like a loser. One step away from stone-age mentality. Take and steal from the weak, "survival of the fittest", without regard to your society. He belonghs in a prison environment where violence is their mantra.

being lolo like this is not limited to being a young person. contrary to your assertion, being lolo runs across all age lines - just the possible reasons are different (if there is a reason or excuse). just another nut case to suck up tax-payer money - free room, board, med plan, retirement (?).

We don't need people like this in our prison system. In fact we should run a sweep through our prison system. I, as a taxpayer, am disgusted by the fact that I have to pay for people that refuse to be a part of society. Kill them. We're paying to encourage these morons.

What makes you feel that 75K is low bail. Sounds about right. You probably don't know that the suspect is presumed innocent at this time, and bail is set only to assure future court attendance.
