An Oahu grand jury indicted a 21-year-old man today on a second-degree murder charge of stabbing a man in the back at Mayor Wright Homes Saturday.

Takson Krstoth faces a life term with parole if convicted of the charge of murdering TJ "Tipuk" Mori, 24, who was stabbed near a garbage bin at the housing project.

City Deputy Prosecutor Kristine Yoo told Circuit Judge Richard Perkins that the stabbing occurred after a brief confrontation between the two men.

Krstoth stabbed Mori in the back with a foot-long kitchen knife, then ran away, according to Yoo.

Krstoth  was arrested two blocks away, police said.

Mori died from loss of blood from the stab wound, the prosecutor said.

Krstoth is expected to plead not guilty when he is arraigned on the charge later this month.

He is being held on $250,000 bail.
