Neighborhood Board candidates must file by Feb. 18

By Associated Press

POSTED:

HONOLULU (AP) — The City and County of Honolulu says Feb. 18 is the deadline to register as a candidate and a voter for upcoming Neighborhood Board elections.

The elections are due to be held in April and May.  More than 400 seats on Oahu’s 33 Neighborhood Boards are at stake. Board members are volunteers and serve as advisers on community concerns. They meet monthly.

The city says Oahu residents who voted in the 2010 state elections are already registered to vote in the Neighborhood Board elections.

Those who didn’t vote, voted but moved since the election, or are non-citizen residents must file a voter registration form in order to vote.

Forms and information on the elections and boards may be found at www.honolulu.gov
