Officials identify diver who died Saturday

The man who died after spearfishing off Makapuu has been identified as 62-year-old Patrick Correa of Waimanalo, the city Medical Examiner’s Office said.

Correa was pulled ashore at about 1 p.m. Saturday near the bathrooms at the beach called Baby Makapuu, across the street from Sea Life Park. Correa was taken to Castle Medical Center in critical condition Saturday and later died.
