Police arrest 34-year old man in Waikiki robbery

By Leila Fujimori

Police arrested a 34-year-old man with no local address who allegedly robbed a 40-year-old man in Waikiki Wednesday night using a metal object.

Police said the 40-year-old was walking in Waikiki when he was confronted by the suspect, who pulled out a metal object and allegedly demanded the man’s wallet.

When the older man refused and called 911, the two began arguing.

Police arrived and arrested the younger man on suspicion of second-degree robbery and second-degree terroristic threatening at 8:01 p.m. at Kalakaua Avenue and Saratoga Road.
