Honolulu police are looking for a man who accosted and is suspected of trying to kidnap a woman walking across the street in the Punahou area.

Police said the 44-year-old woman was walking across the street in a cross walk when a man, believed to be in his 40s or 50s, stopped his vehicle in front of her, made lewd remarks and grabbed the woman's shirt sleeve.

The woman attempted to hit the suspect, who then got back into his vehicle and drove away, police said.

Police did not release more specific information on where the alleged incident happened or a description of the man or the vehicle.

The case is being investigated as an attempted kidnapping.
