By Star-Advertiser staff

POSTED:

Police are looking for a man who robbed the Chinatown branch of First Hawaiian Bank just before noon today while wearing a purple "Crown Royal" baseball cap.

The man entered the bank at 2 North King Street about 11:40 a.m., gave a demand note to a teller, and fled in an unknown direction, police said. No weapon was seen.

Police did not say if money was taken.

The suspect is described as in his 40s or 50s, between 5 feet 2 and 5 feet 4 inches tall, weighing 140-160 pounds, with short, black hair and having a dark complexion. He was wearing a blue and whie printed aloha shirt, dark long pants, sunglasses and the Crown Royal cap.

Anyone with information is asked to call CrimeStoppers at 955-8300, or CRIME on a cellular phone. Or send an anonymous text and web tips by texting "CS808" and a message to 274637, or CRIMES.

I don't think banks actually care to catch any bank robber and have to spend time in court and wasted money and time. That's why a kid can take a better photo with a cheap cell phone camera than a bank camera. That guy looks like a 100 guys and possibly a few ladies with that photo.
