Shark sighting prompts Kauai beach closure

Salt Pond Beach on Kauai was closed Thursday due to a shark sighting in the area, according to the Kauai Fire Department.
A 7-foot gray reef shark was reportedly seen in the water fronting the tower, prompting ocean safety officials to close the beach until at least Friday morning.
Lifeguards will continue to monitor the area, KFD officials said.
