Despite Sean Parker’s defensive efforts, Hawaii receiver Miah Ostrowski scored on an 8-yard pass in the fourth quarter.
LAS VEGAS >>> The University of Hawaii's offense isn't what the doctor — or the coach— ordered for struggling Nevada-Las Vegas, head coach Bobby Hauck said at his weekly press conference.
"This is not a cure for what ailing secondaries are looking for, not at all," said Hauck whose 0-2 Rebels play the Warriors (1-1) Saturday here in a non-conference game.
"It (Hawaii's offense) is a dynamic offense that has some great concepts," Haucks said. "It is an interesting offense. They run as pure a run and shoot offense as there is anywhere in the country," Hauck said.
UNLV, which is a 20-point underdog on the Las Vegas betting lines, is ranked 118th among 120 major college teams in pass defense, allowing an average of 364.5 yards per game. The Rebels are 119th in scoring defense, permitting 55 points a game. UH, after a slow start against Colorado, is averaging 255.5 yards per game passing.
