Tsuneo Kuwabara tells a worker that there is a broken wooden walkway by his business that is dangerous and needs to be fixed. This sidewalk is being rebuilt along Kalakaua Avenue. Kuwabara is manager of Neo Plaza in the Waikiki Business Plaza.

Sidewalk repairs on Kalakaua Avenue for the upcoming APEC meetings made wheelchair travel difficult for Toyoko Nagao of Osaka, Japan, and her daughter, Yumi Takahashi, pushing the chair, during a recent visit in Waikiki. Moments earlier, Nagao's wheelchair flipped over on an irregular piece of pavement, dumping her on the concrete sidewalk head first. Luckily, she wasn't hurt, but the expression on her face indicated she wasn't happy.
