Alcohol, drugs found in Kailua man's body

A Kailua man allegedly shot to death by an off-duty federal agent in Waikiki had alcohol and other drugs in his system, the Honolulu Medical Examiner's Office said Friday.

Kollin Elderts, 23, had broken-down products of cocaine and marijuana in his system, the Medical Examiner's office said. The office previously reported that Elderts had a 0.12 blood-alcohol level. Lab tests on the mainland might determine the amount of drugs in Elderts' system, the office said.

State Department Special Agent Christopher Deedy, 27, was charged with shooting Elderts during an argument at a Waikiki McDonald's on Nov. 5. He was released after posting $250,000 bail and is scheduled to appear for an arraignment Monday in Circuit Court.

KITV reported that Elderts was a chronic two days ago. Why the delay in reporting by the SA? Seems like I get more current news from a non paid news source....Next - Do those APEC protesters marching to object to the shooting of Elderts approve of aggressive chronics? Agreesive chronics have no Aloha and there is no place for them in our islands.

Will we ever know what the federal agent had in his system at the moment of the execution?

If Eldert was indeed harassing others in the restaurant, as drug induced people usually do, Deedy being a Police agent would've been remiss in his duty to not be involved. Problem is Eldert didn't know it and I'm not sure if it would've made a difference since he was stoned.

If he was only stoned, he would have been home, hardly moving and hungry. Instead the guy was speeding and drunk too! No wonder he was out for trouble from anywhere he could get it. Well, he got it! Deedy would have been remiss in his duties had he not taken action against such an animal uncaged.
