Debris from pigeons litter a lab surface in the Microbiology Department at Snyder Hall at the University of Hawaii at Manoa. The pigeons nest above the building’s air-conditioning units, and their droppings, feathers and nesting debris fall through the jalousie windows. Green cyanobacteria can also be seen developing on the windows. This laboratory is not currently in use, but was until about a year ago.
