New Catholic leadership to build up schools

The incoming superintendent for Hawaii wants to see children happy and holy

~~<p>In line with the approach that it takes a village to raise a child, the broader Catholic community has to contribute to strengthening its school system.</p>
<p>That&rsquo;s the main thrust of a new strategic plan, called the &ldquo;System for Success,&rdquo; that outgoing Hawaii Catholic Schools Superintendent Carmen Himenes helped develop for the church&rsquo;s 41 schools in the state.</p>
