» Jim Pietsch, director of the University of Hawaii's Elder Law Program, brought an elderly woman and her caregiver into his elder law clinic where the woman signed a blank piece of paper. Pietsch wanted to illustrate that the woman had the ability to sign her name but could not understand a legal document. He first determined that the woman was incapacitated and had the permission of the caregiver. A Page A1 article Wednesday said Pietsch had the woman sign a document. Login for more...
