Our health care system is still in many ways sicker than the people it seeks to treat. The United States still spends 50 percent more than Canada, the second-biggest spender as a portion of GDP, and has comparatively little to show for it. As a nation, our health care measures and outcomes are, at best, mediocre, and the size of our underserved population is unconscionable.
