Criticism will grow if UH continues to hide salaries

~~<p>It's difficult to fathom why the University of Hawaii administration, which has plenty of real problems on its plate, would create a pointless controversy with its after-the-fact effort to obscure the salary being paid to new football coach Norm Chow.</p>
<p>It's been little secret since Chow was hired that his base salary is in the neighborhood of $550,000, about half of what former coach Greg McMackin was making. The more modest deal played favorably in the community.</p>
