Residents who represent themselves in civil cases will be able to get free help from a volunteer lawyer at Honolulu District Court starting this month.
The "Access to Justice Room" will officially open today and provide people with short-term legal advice on matters that include landlord-tenant cases, collection cases and temporary restraining order cases involving nonfamily members and people who are not and have not been in a dating relationship, the state Judiciary announced Thursday.
