Driver is sought in hit-and-run death on Maui

~~<p>Maui police are asking for the public's help in finding the driver of a truck or SUV who drove away after hitting and killing a 31-year-old Maui woman Thursday night or Friday morning along Kahe­kili Highway in Wai­ehu.</p>
<p>The woman, identified as Brandy Mendes, was walking toward Wai­hee on the makai side of the highway when an unknown vehicle, traveling in the same direction, hit her between 7:40 p.m. Thursday and 5:49 a.m. Friday, Maui police said. The vehicle fled in the Wai­hee direction.</p>
