~~<p>About 112 Hawaii island hotel workers are scrambling to find jobs in the wake of Kamehameha Schools' abrupt announcement that it will shut down and eventually demolish the poorly performing Keauhou Beach Hotel.</p>
<p>Kamehameha Schools, a 125-year-old private trust founded and endowed by the legacy of Princess Bernice Pauahi Bishop, informed the International Longshore &amp; Warehouse Union, and Outrigger Hotels, which managed the resort, of its plan to close the property at the end of October.</p>
