3 candidates file paperwork to run for City Council seat

~~<p>Less than an hour after Tulsi Gabbard said her farewell to the Honolulu City Council on Wednesday, former Councilman Jon Yoshimura was signing up to run for the seat. Two other urban Honolulu residents had joined him by the end of the day, while several others continued to voice interest.</p>
<p>The Council voted 8-1 to approve a plan to hold a special election for someone to fill the remaining two years on Gabbard's term. Candidates for Council District 6, which runs from Makiki to Aiea Heights, have until Aug. 31 to place their names on the ballot in the winner-take-all election.</p>
