UH coaches back Freitas for AD post

Acting director says he will not apply, but some coaches hope to "draft" him

~~<p>Nearly every University of Hawaii at Manoa head coach and many of their assistants have signed a letter recommending that the school "consider immediately appointing Rockne Freitas as our athletic director."</p>
<p>The letter was sent Wednesday to Manoa Chancellor Tom Apple and copied to President M.R.C. Greenwood and Board of Regents Chairman Eric Martinson, according to a copy furnished to the Star-Advertiser Thursday.</p>
