~~<p>Comic-book superheroes may have ruled the summer but fall is traditionally a time for more serious film fare, as well as the usual bloody slate of horror offerings leading up to Halloween &mdash; &ldquo;House at the End of the Street&rdquo; with Jennifer Lawrence, &ldquo;Paranormal Activity 4&rdquo; and &ldquo;Halloween 3D&rdquo; to name three.</p>
<p>One of the most buzzed-about fall movies is Paul Thomas Anderson&rsquo;s &ldquo;The Master,&rdquo; with Joaquin Phoenix and Philip Seymour Hoffman in a story supposedly based on the beginnings of Scientology.</p>
