~~<p>Hawaii's unemployment rate fell to 6.1 percent in August from 6.3 percent in July, reaching its lowest level in more than three years, the state reported Thursday.</p>
<p>However, the report also showed that there was a decline in the overall labor force, suggesting that the drop in the unemployment rate was partly due to some discouraged job seekers simply giving up their searches.</p>
