Church’s former secretary is free pending an appeal

~~<p><strong>Question</strong>: Whatever happened to the case involving Daria S. Bruce, former secretary of Holy Cross Catholic Church in Kalaheo on Kauai, who was found guilty four years ago of stealing money from two church donations?</p>
<p><strong>Answer</strong>: On Oct. 31, the Intermediate Court of Appeals upheld the 2008 conviction of Bruce, now 67, who was found guilty of diverting approximately $85,000 to the Holy Cross Filipino Catholic Club account from accounts of the Holy Cross Church in Kalaheo and Sacred Heart Mission in Eleele between 1998 and 2005. <img style="float:right;padding-left:1em;padding-bottom:1em;" alt="" src="http://media.staradvertiser.com/images/20121107_a2mug.jpg" /></p>
