Research voyage collects huge sampling of debris

~~<p>A marine education vessel picked up more 70,000 pieces of plastic on a 39-day voyage from San Diego to Hawaii and also netted possible tsunami debris like a floating refrigerator.</p>
<p>The twin-masted brigantine SSV Robert C. Seamans crossed about 2,500 miles with a group of researchers studying concentrations of plastic in the Pacific and how these pieces of plastic affect marine organisms.</p>
