Triple Crown ready to hit North Shore

Florence is back to defend his title, and three others are still in the world championship chase

~~<p>This year's Vans Triple Crown of Surfing is celebrating its 30th anniversary by offering a $1 million prize purse.</p>
<p>The winner of the Triple Crown will also win $100,000, a $30,000 Harley Davidson and a $10,000 Nixon watch. The Triple Crown consists of three events — the Reef Hawaiian Pro at Haleiwa, the Vans World Cup of Surfing at Sunset Beach and the Billabong Pipe Masters in Memory of Andy Irons at the Banzai Pipeline. The holding period for the Triple Crown started Sunday and runs through Dec. 20.</p>
