High surf prevents recovery of 2 bodies off Kauai and leads to beach closures

~~<p>Rough seas thwarted attempts by rescue personnel Friday to recover two bodies floating off Kauai's North Shore, on a day when high surf and strong currents prompted the closure of Kauai beaches and more than 2,000 safety actions by Oahu lifeguards.</p>
<p>A high-surf warning by the National Weather Service is in effect until 6 a.m. Sunday for the north- and west-facing shores of Oahu, Kauai, Maui, Molokai and Lanai and the west-facing shores of Hawaii island.</p>
