'Iolani holds off Lauvao, Kaimuki

~~<p>Alex Masaquel scored eight of her 15 points in the third quarter as &lsquo;Iolani broke a 34-all tie and went on to a 69-58 win over Kaimuki on Tuesday in the Division I opening round of the Hawaiian Airlines/HHSAA Girls Basketball State Championships.</p>
<p>Masaquel hauled in 13 rebounds and blocked two shots, and Sheyla Pua Kahalehoe finished with 15 points for &lsquo;Iolani (14-6). Jade Botelho chipped in 10 points, six boards and three swats, and Abrianna Johnson-Edwards added eight points on drives to the bucket. The Raiders were 23-for-34 from the foul line and committed just 14 turnovers while harassing the Bulldogs into 24 giveaways.</p>
