2 bills would rid sidewalks of tents

The ACLU opposes the City Council's aim to remove items from public areas

~~<p>The City Council is renewing efforts to clear Oahu sidewalks of tents and other belongings of homeless people and others with two bills scheduled to get their first airing at a meeting Wednesday.</p>
<p>A spokesman for the American Civil Liberties Union of Hawaii said the group will testify against both bills and will go to court to block them if necessary.</p>
