Inouye honored in low-key style

County mayors mark the late lawmaker's birthday with a party and fond memories

~~<p>In an event the late man of honor might himself have dismissed as a lot of unnecessary fuss, Hawaii's four county mayors and other local government officials celebrated what would have been U.S. Sen. Daniel Inouye's 89th birthday Saturday with a party on the grounds of the Civic Center.</p>
<p>Inouye, who served in Congress for more than 54 years, died on Dec. 17.</p>
