Rose Kim Sun Ah Sam Nov. 3, 2013 Rose Kim Sun Ah Sam, 79, of Kahului, a Maui Seaside Hotel housekeeper, died. She was born in Puunene, Maui. She is survived by son Ronald; daughters Wanda Peroff, Charlotte "Charlie" Ah Sam-Takahashi and Stephanie Genilla; stepson Henry; sisters Evangeline Arcala and Judy Kitagawa; 12 grandchildren; and seven great-grandchildren. Queen Leinaale Akiu Oct. 24, 2013 Queen Leinaale Akiu, also known as "Aunty Ala," 72, of Waiohinu, Hawaii, a retired Naalehu Elementary and Intermediate School custodian, Alfred Shaheen Shirt Factory silk-screener and Dole Cannery packer, died at home. She was born in Waiohinu. She is survived by sons Augustine Jr., Sebastian and Kwai-Chang; daughter Yolan Ann Jardine; sister Marylyn Amoe Soto; and three grandchildren.
