Senate will accept House version

Hawaii and Illinois are poised to be the 15th and 16th states to allow gay couples to wed

~~<p><span style="font-size: 12px;">The state Senate on Tuesday will agree to the state House's version of a same-sex marriage bill and send it to Gov. Neil Abercrombie for his signature.</span></p>
<p>Sen. Clayton Hee (D, Heeia-Laie-Waialua), chairman of the Senate Judiciary and Labor Committee, said Saturday that he would recommend that the Senate accept the House's changes to the bill, which expanded a religious exemption to protect religious freedom.</p>
