Book records Hawaii's role on big (and small) screen

~~<p>Writer Ed Rampell likes to share the story about a conversation he had with two-time Oscar-winner Alexander Payne, the director/screenwriter whose 2011 movie &quot;The Descendants&quot; showcased Hawaii in its most accurate light to date.</p>
<p>He credits Payne with the idea for the new book Rampell co-authored with Luis I. Reyes, &quot;The Hawaii Movie and Television Book&quot; (Mutual Publishing, $23.95). It's a follow-up of sorts to a similar work Rampell and Reyes co-authored in 1995. Payne told the writers that a sequel was in order, in part to include the nearly 50 films shot since the first book, but more importantly so the update could include &quot;The Descendants.&quot;</p>
