David Torres Alvarez, 84, of Kaneohe, a retired MTL bus driver, died in Kailua. He was born in Honolulu. He is survived by sons Robert, Barney, Duane, Lincoln and Herbert; daughters Davealyn Alvarez, Agnes Cooley, Paulene Staszkow and Melissa Shimomura; stepson Stephen; stepdaughter Herminia Peters; brothers Benjamin and Angelino; and numerous grandchildren and great-grandchildren.Visitation: 10:30 a.m. April 4 at Nuuanu Memorial Park &amp; Mortuary. Services: 11:30 a.m. Burial to follow at Nuuanu Memorial Park. Aloha attire.</p>

Evangeline Alias &quot;Edna&quot; Cabiles, 72, of Waipahu, a Fujiya Ltd. retiree, died in Honolulu. She was born in Vigan, Ilocos Sur, Philippines. She is survived by husband Juan D., son Eddie, daughters Ofelia Simpliciano and Salve Lumauag, brother Artemio Alias, sister Milagros Cablayan, nine grandchildren and four great-grandchildren. Visitation: 6 p.m. Tuesday at Mililani Mortuary-Waipio, mauka chapel. Services: 6:30 p.m. Additional visitation: 8:15 a.m. Wednesday at St. JosephCatholic Church, Waipahu. Mass: 9:30 a.m. Burial: 11 a.m. at Mililani Memorial Park. Casual attire. Flowers welcome.</p>
