Kauai chief aspires to Council

~~<p>Police Chief Darryl D. Perry filed papers Friday to run as a candidate for the Kauai County Council in the 2014 election.</p>
<p>Perry said he is nearing the end of his law enforcement career and wants to contribute to the community in a different role. &quot;I wanted to see if I could help the community, Kauai and Nii&shy;hau, by giving the citizens an option, an alternative on who can best represent them at the Council,&quot; he said Friday.</p>
